In 1996 Julian Flannery and Julia de la Pole were shortlisted in the open RIBA competition for a new four hundred seat theatre and art gallery in the cathedral city of Armagh.

Glazed foyers wrapped around a very intimate horseshoe shaped auditorium with a single balcony level. The fly tower was situated at the bottom of a steeply sloping site to reduce the external mass. Opposite the auditorium were a row of top lit studios and a small art gallery overlooking the public square.
