Flannery and de la Pole is an RIBA Chartered Practice. This ensures that the practice meets specific standards for quality and service, including the maintenance of professional indemnity insurance and the operation of a quality management system.

Flannery and de la Pole was established in 2004 by Julian Flannery and Julia de la Pole. Both directors trained at the University of Nottingham between 1982 and 1988. After gaining experience in the East Midlands they moved to the West Midlands in 1995.

Julian Flannery has played a significant role in several major projects in Birmingham, including the Hippodrome with Associated Architects, Millennium Point with Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners, and Selfridges department store with Future Systems.

In November 2004 Flannery and de la Pole was appointed to complete the Public Building in West Bromwich.
